Books on Islam for Iphone/Itouch
Oct 22nd, 2008 by admin
The Iphone/Itouch has made reading e-books relatively easy with apps such as Stanza. You can download available books, and read them at your convenience. Stanza allows a variety of settings, including fonts, size, colors etc., that make reading, if not a joy, then at least less of a chore on the iphone/itouch.
I hope to make a variety of books on Islam available for download, and Stanza makes the process relatively easy. At this time, there are four books available, but expect more soon. If you know what you are doing, and already using Stanza, just add the following catalog link (without the quotes) and you can begin downloading:
Let me know in the comments section if you have any questions/suggestions.
Below is a tutorial for those who are new to this app:
1. Download Stanza from App Store
2. The app will open with this screen:

3. Touch the section labeled “Online Catalog” and you’ll see:

4. Now touch the “+” sign on the bottom right hand side of the screen, this will bring you to where you can “Add Catalog”

5. Choose any name you want for the catalog, I like “Vision of Islam” – and, in the box titled “URL” type in (without the quotes):
Next, touch “Save” on the upper right hand corner.

6. This will bring you back to the list of online catalogs, and you’ll see “Vision of Islam” listed at the bottom:

7. Now, touch the section “Vision of Islam” – and you will get a screen with a list of available books for downloading:

8. Touch the book you want to download, or get more information on (for example Forty Hadith) and then touch “Download” on the upper right hand side of the screen. And that’s it, happy reading!
