Dua Ahad

Shi’a Muslims are encouraged to pray for Imam Mahdi (AS) during his absence (occultation). There are a number of supplications pleading to Allah to hasten the return and rise of Imam al-Mahdi (AS).

This plea is for an end to oppression, and for justice. But it is also a deep yearning to be in the company of our Imam (AS). And is ultimately an expression of profound love for Allah, for our Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) and for the Ahlul-Bayt (AS).

Dua Ahd is one of the more well known, and frequently recited supplications. According to hadith attributed to Imam Jafer Sadeq (AS) it should be recited for forty days consecutively, and with Allah’s grace one may be one of the helpers of the 12th Imam (AS).

Altaf, one thing that is really bothering me is the fighting in Iraq between the Sunni and Shia. Unfortunately all the people that I talk to are so emotionally attached to the issue (Shia and Sunnis) that they end up questioning my motivations because I refuse to take a side and condemn either side or they scream at me for not taking a side. Either way it sucks. For a long time I had an interest in Islam but now I am beginning to get turned off.

Next time I leave a post on your blog I’ll start with,

I start with the name of, whom the height of intelligence courage cannot appreciate. He is a Begin but not through phenomena of coming into being.

Reply to Amina; In my understanding, there is no shia sunni issue but root cause is, we turned guidance towards desires rather direct our desires towards (the path of) guidance, and turning the Qur’an in our views instead of turn our views to the direction of the Qur’an. In my best knowledge, problem starts when …..
1- everyone becoming a champion of islam in 60 years of age after retirement regardless of their occupation and spread their understanding with great confidence among peoples.
2- we practice faith with no reason, logic, understanding but sake of habit or/and daily routine etc.
3- spend most of our time on information (getting educate on human inventions or/and discoveries such as technology, law, economics, politics) but unfortunately hardly manage to spend few hours on knowledge (getting educate about Qur’an, Ahlibait).
4- enjoy talking like mediocre mind but never listen to wise mind.
5- offer pray to seek fulfillment of our desires never pray for HIS bounties.

There is a long list of shameful acts, and I make you assure, no one gets credit taking either side. What we should do, is to learn how to use our brain. In last, I make you remind, we have no courage to turn our back on islam but Allah put curtains on our hearts to hide guidance and the reason being is committing greatest sin in our daily life and never regret on. I learn from my past during thesis writing, if we feel like loosing faith should have take time and sit alone and think about past few months or weeks what we have done and ask guidance from GOD. May Allah helps dear dairy reader …..LOL

Reply to Marium; As you have shown interest on islam in light of Qur’an and Sunnah. I look at it in a very broad vision, there may quite few topics like knowing GOD, why islam, shia beliefs or sunni beleifs, what is important in islam, what make us human and so on…. I suggest, pick up your interest and go specific, best is to analyze current system (world economics, education system, politics) and look through in light of Qur’an and talemat-e-Ahlibiat.
