He who has heaven and hell in his view has no other aim. He who attempts, and acts quickly, succeeds, while the seeker who is slow may also entertain hope, and he who falls short of action faces destruction in hell. On the right and left there are misleading paths. Only the middle way is the path of the Everlasting Book and the traditions of the Prophet. From it the sunnah has spread out and towards it is the eventual return. (Imam Ali (AS) sermon #15)

Abu Ja’far Muhammad b. Ali al-Baqir, peace be upon him, said: Musa son of Imran, may Allah bless our Prophet (and his progeny) and him, said: “O Allah! Who are the sincere, pure servants of Yours among Your creation?” He said: “One with the generous palms and the bountiful feet. He speaks truthfully, and walks modestly. They are such that the mountains may move, but they would not.” (Attributed in Al-Amali, Ch. 10, #1)

Hu originated the creation without any example which Hu could follow and without any specimen prepared by any known creator that was before Him. Hu showed us the realm of His Might, and such wonders which speak of His Wisdom. (Imam Ali (AS) Nahj-ul-balaga, sermon #90)

By Allah in Whose power my life lies, these people will overcome you not because they have a better right than you but because of their hastening towards the wrong with their leader and your slowness about my right. People are afraid of the oppression of their rulers while I fear the oppression of my subjects. (Imam Ali (AS) Nahj-ul-Balaga, sermon #96)

The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him and his Family) said: “The best definition of piety (taqwa) is given in God’s words: “God commands justice, the doing of good…” (The Holy Quran: 16:90) (Mishkat al-Anwar, #212)

Say: “We believe in God, and in that which has been bestowed from on high upon us, and that which has been bestowed upon Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and their descendants, and that which has been vouchsafed by their Sustainer unto Moses and Jesus and all the [other] prophets: we make no distinction between any of them. And unto Him do we surrender ourselves.” (Qur’an 3:84)

Qul amanna biAllahi wama onzila AAalayna wama onzila AAala ibraheema waismaAAeela waishaqa wayaAAqooba waalasbati wama ootiya moosa waAAeesa waalnnabiyyoona min rabbihim la nufarriqu bayna ahadin minhum wanahnu lahu muslimoona

Those who are bent on denying the truth are allies of one another; and unless you act likewise [among yourselves], oppression will reign on earth, with great corruption. (Qur’an 8:73)

Waallatheena kafaroo baAAduhum awliyao baAAdin illa tafAAaloohu takun fitnatun fee alardi wafasadun kabeerun
