Imam Baqir (a.s) said: “When you wish to know whether there is any good in you, look at your heart. There is some good in you if you love those who obey Allah. Allah will then love you. But there is no good in you if you are the enemy of those who obey Allah, and love those who sin. Then Allah will be your enemy. Every human is with those whom he loves.” (Mishkat al-Anwar, h. #604, ch. 5)

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “A momin will never get full while his (momin) brother is hungry, or drink enough when his (momin) brother is thirsty, or wear good clothes when his (momin) brother is naked. How great are the rights of Muslims over each other!” (Mishkat al-Anwar, h. 497)

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “Do not consider the people’s praying and fasting since they are accustomed to doing these, and will get worried if they quit. But consider if they are honest in their speech and trustworthy.” (Mishkat al-anwar ch. 11, #434)

Ya Allah,
bless Muhammad and his Household,
turn us away from
deviation in professing Your Unity,
falling short in magnifying You,
in Your religion,
blindness toward Your path,
heedlessness of Your inviolability,
and being deceived by Your enemy, the accursed shaytan! (Imam Sajjad (AS) Sahifa al-Kamilah dua #44)

And praise belongs to God who appointed among those roads His month, the month of Ramadan,
the month of fasting,
the month of submission,
the month of purity,
the month of putting to test,
the month of standing in prayer,
in which the Qur’an was sent down as guidance to the people,
and as clear signs of the Guidance and the Separator! (Imam Sajjad (AS) Sahifa al-Kamilah, dua 44)

Learn the Qur’an for it is the most beautiful of narrations/teachings (hadith), and understand it thoroughly for it is the best blossoming of hearts. Seek cure with its light for it is the cure for hearts, and recite it beautifully… (Imam Ali (AS) - Nahj-ul-Balaga sermon #109)
