interview with Maulana Zaki Baqri

What is azadari and who is the purpose of azadari?

A 14) ZB The literal meaning of Azadari is to mourn for a departed soul; but it is greatly used for the mourning of Imam Hussain (a) the grandson of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (s). After the tragedy of Karbala it became an engine to motivate the masses. Azadari motivates the mourners towards truth, justice and equity and compels them to reject and fight against tyranny, injustice and inequity. As the great leader of the modern times Imam Khomeini once expressed it by saying: ?Ma Her Chizi Ki Dareem As Hussain (a) Dareem?, meaning whatever we have today in Iran it is because of Imam Hussain (a)?.

Your message to the Muslim world and Islamic unity?.

A 26) ZB: My message to all the readers is that the world in which we are living is becoming more and more fragile and there is an urgent need for peace and harmony among humankind. Peace and harmony cannot be achieved until we are educated and feel the presence of Allah in our lives. The world is compelling us to become individualistic beings while by nature we are social. Thus Islam is the only system with which one can attain success in both the worlds. Take out anger, hatred, and revulsion and bring knowledge, love and harmony among all humankind. Learn total Islam and follow it totally Insha Allah the success is under your feet.

O? Allah give us strength to fight tyranny, oppression, injustice and indecency.

O? Allah hasten the appearance of the maker of Justice to the mankind.

O? Allah give us Tawfeeq (Heavenly inspiration) to follow the best religion Islam.

O? Allah keep us united and make us pious.

India and anti-Muslim attitudes

An interesting poll that folks can take a look at here:

Non-Muslims of India are on top of the list as having the most negative view towards Muslims, with 67% (second to Nigeria) associating Muslims with violence, 58% arrogant, 64% selfish, 55% greedy, and 50% immoral.

When associating positive views towards Muslims, India falls to the near bottom with only 35% associating Muslims with honesty, and 31% with generosity.

It is also interesting that the French, and British non-Muslims have a *relatively* more positive view towards Muslims.

Also Pakistani Muslims’ negative view of Westerners is more middle of the road. The most negative perception by Muslims of Westerners, are from those countries that are considered “moderate” by the US regime: i.e. Indonesia, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt …

Overall, Turkish Muslims have the most negative view of Westerners, and India has the most negative view towards Muslims…

The U.S. is somewhere in the middle — has substantial negative views of Muslims, but nowhere near the kind of perception that appears in India.

The chart below shows a rating of negative views of Muslims, in the countries listed, towards “Westerners” and of non-Muslims, towards Muslims — the higher the rating the more negative the perception.

Imam Khomeini, May 17, 1900 – June 4th, 1989.

… We are ready to accept dictators like Musharraf as the leader of an Islamic nation, and then we proclaim to be followers of Imam Khomeini (r.a)? We are even worst than those fundamentalist of Jame e Hafsa (Lal Masjid), who at least have taken up a war against Musharraf with batons in hands.

Whatever may be the political background of this, but those who are standing with sticks and batons on street are sincere towards their work, they have acknowledge and declared, that this nation in under the clutches of evil , the evils of Musharraf, and Shariah laws imposition is the solution, though for them the Islamic system is that of Taliban. Once again I won?t blame them totally, it is our fault. How much have we educated the mass about what a true Islamic system is?

We ourselves have distorted the core principles, fundamentals of Islam and then we blame those who are standing for truth with a distorted concept? For us Jihad in the battlefield and Struggle for earning bread has the same rewards. When Islamic Ideology, practices and beliefs are weighed on the scales of rewards, then what comes out is a distorted form of Islam.

This is where Imam Khomeini (r.a) made a clear line between the two Islams, the Islam e Mohammadi (s) and Islam e America. Massive American funding is available to Shia groups today to start Television channels and they even give names to such channels as Guidance Channels, yes this is guidance, but towards Islam e America. On a side note, any TV channel which starts and does not talk about the political situation of the Islamic Ummah, take if for granted that this channel will only bring misguidance.

Just replace the word “house negro” with house Muslim and/or Arab, and you get an idea about the attitudes of many Muslim/Arab puppets running around these days –

From Izzy Mo’s Blog

As a Muslim woman, don?t you often wish that you had a big megaphone so that you could go around screaming at people, ?I?M NOT OPPRESSED! LISTEN ME! I HAVE A WILL OF MY OWN. STOP SPEAKING FOR ME! SHUT UP ALREADY!? Of course, this isn?t sunnah-like behavior but I know there are times when you just want to scream at people to just get a grip already. I wanted to make sure that this didn?t turn into a ?We?re not oppressed? entry but the truth is, we are oppressed. We have been robbed of our voices. But the thief of the Muslim woman?s voice is not the usual suspect. It?s not our protecting fathers, doting husbands and that overally traditional imam. It?s a mainstream media that refuses to recognize us.

And who are we exactly? We are devout, practicing, believing Muslim women who don?t need the New York Times, The View, deconstructionist thought or postmodernist feminism to tell us what Islam is. We don?t need racist German judges, Turkish secularists, or Tucker Carlson to explicate the meanings of Surah 4, Verse 34.
