dunya
“O Nawf, blessed are those who are detached from this world, inclined to the next one. They have adopted the earth of Allah as a carpet, the dust He created as a cushion, His Book as the under cover, and supplications to Him as the outer cover, and His water as the delicate scent. They relinquish and renounce this world, the way Jesus, peace upon him, did.” (Imam Ali (AS) Al-Amali ch. 16, #1)
Allah’s love
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “A momin can taste the sweetness of Allah’s love if he abstains from the world. He will thus succeed. Then he will attain Allah’s love. He will be considered to be insane by those who love the world, but in fact the sweetness of Allah’s love has made him attend to nothing but Allah.” (Mishkat, h.# 605)
wealth of the world
Do not keep your eyes on the shining clouds of the world, do not listen to him who speaks of it, do not respond to him who calls towards it, do not seek light from its glare, and do not die in its precious things, because its brightness is deceitful, its words are false, its wealth is liable to be looted, and its precious thing are to be taken away. (Imam Ali (AS) sermon #190)
wealth
Allah’s Prophet (peace and blessings on him and his family) said: “Richness does not depend on having a lot of wealth, rather it depends on spiritual affluence.” (Mishkat, h. # 655)
knowledge
Do you not know that Allah is obeyed by the means of knowledge? And that Hu is worshiped through knowledge? The good of this world and the Hereafter is accompanied by knowledge, and the wickedness of this world and the Hereafter is accompanied by ignorance. (RasulAllah, peace and blessings on him and his Family, Mishkat, h. #700).
