to the scholars
If you (the scholars) tolerated the harm and bore the burdens for Allah’s sake, all the affairs of Allah would arrive at your hands, emanate from you, and devolve upon you. But you have made the oppressive rulers occupy your positions, and handed over the affairs of Allah to them. They (the oppressors) are now acting suspiciously, and pursuing their passions.
