Every knower other than Hu is seeker of knowledge. Every powerful (qadr) one other than Hu is sometimes imbued with power and sometimes with disability. Every listener other than Hu is deaf to subtle (latif) voices while loud voices make him deaf and distant voices also get away from him. Every onlooker other than Hu is blind to hidden colours and delicate (latif) bodies. Every manifest thing other than Hu is hidden, but every hidden thing other than Hu is incapable of becoming manifest. (Imam Ali (AS) Nahj-ul-Balagha, sermon # 64)
