the politics of racism

The western pro-Zionist media widely covered the (unfortunate) attendance of David Duke at the conference in Iran - a search will reveal that just about every news outlet had a story or two or three.

But did you know that there was another conference, about a week ago, where an advocate of ethnic cleansing was a keynote speaker? This conference was held in Washington D.C., you known, the capital of the United States of America. Attending this conference were, amongst others, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Bush Administration personnel, an associate justice of the supreme court, Ted Koppel, Tom Friedman, and other “dignitaries.”

The “closed door” conference included the Zionist: Avigdor Lieberman. So, who is he? Well, aside from being a member of the zionist regime, he is also an advocate of ethnic cleansing:

In 2002, the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth quoted with dismay one of Lieberman’s many disgusting proposals. If the Palestinians did not comply with Israeli dictates, he suggested, the occupying forces should “bomb all the commercial centers… gas stations… [and] banks.”

Lieberman’s ghastly plan for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel was to drown them in the Dead Sea. He offered to provide the buses to transport them.

In May, 2004, he said that 90 percent of Israel’s 1.2 million Palestinian citizens would “have to find a new Arab entity” beyond Israel’s borders. Lieberman, an immigrant from Russia, claimed the Palestinian citizens of Israel “have no place here.” Russians do, of course. This newcomer has the nerve to tell Palestinians with ancient lineage to “take their bundles and get lost.”

Despite the vitriol of this hatemonger, the Brookings Institution is proudly hosting the former nightclub bouncer on his upcoming trip to Washington. Officials at the Institution said they were “honored” to host Lieberman’s first address abroad since joining the government.

So, why do you think the media gave so much coverage to David Duke’s attendance, but not much at all to this advocate of ethnic cleaning? Could it be that Muslim and Arab lives are just not worth that much?

Lieberman is one racist character, Haim Saban, after whom the Saban center is named, who hosted the conference, is not all that better. Amongst his gems is this:

“On the issues of security and terrorism I am a total hawk,” he said.”I’m a Democrat for the reinforcement of the Patriot Act. It’s not strong enough. The A.C.L.U. can eat their heart out, but they are living in the 1970’s. We should all have ID’s. You betcha. What do you have to hide? Some friends of mine on the left side think I’m crazy.”

    salaam alaikum,

Although I have an affinity for what is known as “sufism” in the US - I’m not formally affiliated with a tariqa at this time. I do, however, consider the struggle for justice, and identifying with those oppressed, to be an integral part of all spiritual/religious paths.

    As salaamu alaykum,

You know I was thinking the exact same thing, thank you for pointing it out.
