desert smog
O Which of your Lord’s bounties will you and you deny? (Qur’an 55:13)

The United States has about 5% of the world’s population, but it consumes some 26% of the world’s energy output. This level of consumption is harming not only the major US cities, but also causing immense ecological damage to forests, rivers, and deserts. Above is a photograph of a haze of pollution at the Joshua Tree National Park:
You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.“The haze that obscures these vistas is the result of smog that blows into the park from surrounding urban areas. Growth in the Coachella Valley, the current real estate boomin the hi-desert, and construction of power plants nearby, all impact air quality in the park. But Los Angeles basin, with a population over 12 million, is the major contributor of ozone and other pollutants that reach the park.”

Salaam Alaikum,
God put us as caretakers of the earth, but we did not understand the role given to us. Arrogance and greed has left us with a damaged earth. That smog is quite sad to look at, and a reminder to how vital it is to stop this utter lack of care for our earth, before we have to pay the consequences, which we already are beginning to .

Greetings
A beautiful website. Congratulations.
Evocative pictures - I enjoyed the visit.
Have to agree with M. Shahin above: we have made a mess of our custodianship. Greed an materialism ruled what our grandfathers and fathers did, and what we are still doing.
Unfortunately our children and grandchildren will really pay the price.
